A very nice Eb clarinet made for Boosey & Hawkes in the Czech Republic, almost certainly in the Amati factory, probably in the mid 1990s. I bought this as unsold stock from a music shop that was closing down and have played it myself only to test it, so it is essentially a brand new instrument.
The one-piece body and barrel are both African blackwood, and the bell is plastic. All joints, keys and pads working well, with a low and very sturdy action on the keywork. Poor intonation is a very common problem with Eb clarinets, but this one plays incredibly well in tune across its range, speaking easily with a pleasant, centred tone.
Comes in a case with a mouthpiece, ligature, cap, cleaning brush and even an atachable lyre for holding sheet music.
