Made in Korea in the 1980s, this was clearly a cheaply made banjo, but is actually very playable indeed. It lacks the complexity of tone that one associates with more solidly built instruments, but I’ve spent some time setting it up and it’s playing very comfortably and in tune along the whole neck, with a very low action.
The four geared, guitar-style tuners are working well, and the 5th string is tuned with a friction peg which is a little basic but works. The resonator is removable, but not easily. It is in good cosmetic condition.
