Medieval Alto/Treble Recorder-£250

A very nice medieval alto recorder by the late John Cousen (1926-2014).

It’s made in one piece from a very attractive piece of boxwood. It doesn’t have a cutaway at the top and there is an old crack running from the top of the instrument to the bottom of the fipple. This has been filled with some kind of resin and is stable with no air loss. There is also a small chip at the foot.

It’s playing very well and in tune at A=440.

47.5cm long
