An unusual set of scottish smallpipes with an aluminium chanter in the key of C, maker unknown.
Three drones, Bass in C, Baritone in G and Tenor in C, the drones themselves are some kind of hardwood but not blackwood or ebony. The bag is leather with a tartan cover and the bellows have oak cheeks.
I’ve spent some time getting them set up and they are now playing nicely. The chanter reed is cane and the drone reeds have brass bodies and cane tongues. The Chanter is perhaps just slightly on the quiet side.
