Theatre

As an actor musician and musical director, I understand that the demands made on instruments used in theatrical productions are different from those used in other performance contexts.

For instance, a lutenist giving a solo recital may take as much time as they need to tune a gut-stringed instrument with wooden friction pegs, but an on-stage musician who must change quickly between instruments does not have that luxury.

As well as being happy to discuss the reliability of any of the instruments listed for sale, I can also advise on adaptations that can be made to an instrument in order to improve them. In most instances this is work I can carry out myself.

I also have a number of instruments in my private collection that can be hired out for theatrical productions.
