A very nice 5 string ‘Goodtime’ banjo by Deering. This is probably the ‘Leader-Picking Earl’ model.
A very economical piece of design, with laser cut wooden inlays and a very sensible, if slightly unsightly neck joint, these are really good beginner to intermediate banjos made in the Deering factory in California.
This model has proper geared planetary tuners as opposed to the guitar style ones on cheaper Goodtime models and is fitted with a removable resonator and 4 railroad spikes.
Plays very nicely and sounds great.
