A very nice Lachenal ‘Excelsior’ English Concertina. This is an 56 key extended treble model, meaning it has a range of three octaves and a sixth (G3-E7).
Serial number is 15319 which would put it to around 1890.
It’s in good condition and eminently playable. The tuning is ok, it’s in A440 but could certainly do with a touch tune at some point. Steel reeds, all looking good with minimal corrosion. Cosmetically it’s survived remarkably well, woodwork in very good condition, although sadly someone has put some bellows papers that have been printed rather cheaply.
A good concertina to move up to.
Comes with a slightly tatty soft case.
