A good strad shaped German violin. Late 19th or early 20th century and labelled ‘J.L.G’ in addition to the standard facsimile of the Stradivarius label.
Ebonised rosewood fingerboard and pegs, the pegs are well fitted though. The bridge has adjustable feet and could probably benefit from a bit of additional shaping. Alloy tailpiece with integrated fine tuners.
A nice and very solid old fiddle, lacking a little fullness at the bottom end but with a good mid range and sweet and rounded at the top.
