The gralla is type of shawm from Catalonia. This is a very nice example, playing well and in tune in the key of G. It would appear at first glance to be made of a dark fruitwood such as plum, but closer inspection suggests it might be stained maple. It has two brass keys, both with old pads but both are working well. There is a slight crazing to the varnish at the back just above the thumbhole (see photo). It comes with one new reed. £230
