A very well made Turkish kabak kemane. It belongs to a family of similar instruments that are prevailant across the middle east and central asia (generally called ‘kamancha’ or something simila), but for some reason it plays a less prominent role in Turkish music than its relatives do in Azeri and Persian music for instance.
The ‘kabak’ refers to the gourd that forms the body of the insrument and the neck is made from nicely figured maple.
Plays very nicely indeed. It comes with a soft case and I have a bow available that I could sell for an additional £40
Scale lenght: 330mm (violin scale length)
