A very charming piccolo zither banjo, dating from the first decades of the 20th century.
It is tuned a fifth up from a standard five-string, meaning standard tuning would be open D (DADF#A).
It’s a well made instrument, probably English, and has a zither banjo style style pot.
There are a few scratches and scrapes and a couple of bits of missing veneer on the pot. It’s playing well with a reasonable action.
