Sweetheart Flute in D-£250

Made by the late American maker Ralph Sweet, this is a very nice two piece, six-hole, keyless flute in apple, with attractive mustard coloured mounts in some sort of plastic. There is no tuning side, but the flute is playing nicely in the key of D and seems fairly stable at that pitch. Some degree of adjustment can be acheived by pulling the head joint back a little. There is an old repair to a crack in the headjoint which seems very stable, and the head joint has been lined, meaning this is now purely cosmetic. There is also some wear to the finish by the embouchure hole. It plays very easily and has a lovely mellow tone.

Overall length: 62cm
