Tenor Banjo by ‘Savana’-SOLD

A basic but nice-sounding instrument, ‘Savana’ banjos were built in England in the 1920s for the Rose Brothers (later Rose Morris).

It only has 10 lugs and is in no way ornate, but it is a properly made thing. The frets have plenty of life in them, the neck is in good shape and the vellum head is intact.

I’ve done a basic setup on it and it is now playing well. The original tuners were useless and falling apart and I’ve put some guitar tuners on it to keep the cost down but could fit some proper banjo pegs at additional cost.

19 frets, currently tuned GDAE

Scale length: 585mm
